ABOUT BOCONNION

The Boconnion Estate has a rich history dating back to the 13th century when the Manor of Boconnion passed from the Caerhayes family to the InkPenne family. Much of this history can still be seen throughout the house, outbuildings, gardens and woodland.

It is believed that Boconnion was an ancient Saxon manor, mentioned under the name of Bot Chono Am in the Exeter Domesday Book and Botoconoan in the Exchequer Book. Boconnion House dates in part from the 17th Century but the majority of the accommodation was built in the Georgian era.

Owner Rob Kendall has deep connections with Cornwall, being half-Cornish himself. And when he fell upon the beautiful Boconnion Estate in 2006, he was filled with inspiration. Rob started an ambitious renovation project to restore the Georgian house and grounds back to their former glory. Driven by a dream to once again fill the house with happiness, families and laughter, a new chapter of the Boconnion story began..

Rob's passion for Boconnion and its unique history is evident. His keen eye for detail and interior design have allowed him to create a place that is luxurious yet homely, honouring traditional styles while including modern comforts that make for a really relaxing stay.

“We were looking for a relaxed venue that catered for all our guests for the entire weekend. The place is exceptional and we loved it here.”
